February 14 – February 15, 2019

The National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) is a student-led initiative striving to help undergraduate students, faculty, and community members discover what it means to be leaders and Christ-followers in all areas of our life. Through keynote and breakout sessions, NSLC provides attendees the opportunity to come together to engage in diverse ideas and thoughtful conversations about leadership with authors, thought leaders, experts in various fields, pastors, and those doing creative and restorative work in the Kingdom for Jesus. The hope of NSLC would be ultimately to inspire students and attendees towards faithful and loving action.

Founded in 1982 by the Taylor University Student Organization (TSO) and the Office of Student Programs, NSLC has continued to impact thousands of students across the nation as the university’s first leadership conference both formed and run entirely by students. Every year, hundreds of students gather to learn from speakers that encourage students to grow as faithful followers of Christ.

Our conference theme for NSLC 2019 is “Gather.” We all have spaces in which we gather- whether it be around dinner tables, in residence halls, on athletic fields, in classrooms or innumerable others. Those spaces are our spheres of influence in which we have opportunities to lead well. NSLC: Gather brings many different people together – to share ideas, questions, and stories that provoke thought, challenge assumptions, and encourage us to grow as Christ followers and leaders in our spheres of influence. Under the theme of “Gather” we will be trying to connect each session back to our core themes that we teach on in leadership including:

  •              Hospitality
  •              Imagination
  •              Power
  •              Congruence
  •              Failure
  •              Culture

The conference utilizes many different formats for attendees to learn from such as TED style keynote talks, thematic panels, facilitated conversations, interviews, and deeper teaching sessions. We will look for meal times to continue conversations with friends, guests, and speakers.

We are excited to have you join us in this dynamic event and look forward to seeing you in Upland.
